The following report from Australian Aging Agenda about a push for more funding for Palliative Care in New South Wales is very good news.
The article explains in detail what palliative care seeks to achieve in supporting people at the end stages of life and their families.
It also makes clear what commentators have been saying for sometime: that access to good palliative care support is somewhat limited in Australia to large population centres. At the same time, the debate about the Liverpool Care Pathway and palliative services in the UK generally also marks the fact that there's something of a 'postcode lottery' for access to good services - even in London!
If you live in New South Wales, why not add your voice to this campaign (see details at bottom of article).
