The euthanasia debate surfaced in Australia once again in an opinion piece by pro-euthanasia medico, Dr. Sarah Edelman yesterday in the Sydney Morning Herald.
Two published responses today put the other side. You can read political reporter, Josephine Tovey entitled " Euthanasia is just a bridge too far" looks at the political landscape in New South Wales.
But the personal piece (also in the SMH) by former pastoral care worker, Julie Fewster, reflecting on two persons in her life highlighted the false dichotomy in how we view suicidal thoughts in different age groups.
(I made a similar observation in a recent blog - but not quite as eloquently!)
Death is so personal it can't be politicised
